Fall 2010 WIT Series: Financial Management
Financial management has been on everyone's minds lately. At work companies are tightening budgets and cutting costs to increase the bottom line and to save jobs. Personal budgets are under scrutiny as well. Savings, retirement accounts and kids' college funds are ever-present issues at home. And everyday we hear forecasts indicating that the economy is getting better and getting worse.
This fall's Women in Technology series will focus on personal and professional financial management. We will open in September with a discussion on the business side of financial management and planning and learn about budgets: how to read them and what to look for when developing them. In October, a panel of speakers will address personal finances - what you can be doing right now, how to make sure you are saving enough for the future, and how to be ready when it's time to send the kids to college or when other major expenses arise. In November, we will hear on overview of the economic outlook.
Save the dates now! They are September 16th, October 21st and November 18th.
